Background

SageOne Investment Managers LLP embarked upon the journey in Alternate Investment Funds (AIFs) in June, 2019 with the registeration of SageOne India Opportunity Trust (“Trust”), with SEBI as a Category III AIF bearing registration no. IN/AIF3/19-20/0711.

Timeline

Journey of Scheme 1

  • Launch of AIF Scheme 1, a close-ended fund, baed on the core philosophy of SageOne to invest in high-earnings growth businesses from the mid and small cap space.

  • Closed the fund for subsequent fund raise

  • Funds returned and Final close of Scheme 1 with ~120% returns to investors.

Journey of Scheme 2

  • Launch of AIF Scheme 2, a close-ended fund, baed on the core philosophy of SageOne to invest in high-earnings growth businesses from the mid and small cap space.

  • Closed the fund for subsequent fund raise

    Fund is currently ongoing with Final close date being no later than Dec 2025

 

AIF Scheme 3 Launch

We are pleased to launch a new scheme of our domestic Cat III AIF – ‘SageOne Flagship Growth OE Fund’ (i.e. AIF – Sch 3). Unlike our previous closed ended AIF schemes 1 & 2, our new AIF Sch – 3 is an open -ended scheme with a perpetual fund life, thereby giving top ups / exit options to investors. The key features of AIF – Sch 3 are stated below:

  1. Portfolio construct – Blend of ‘SageOne Core Portfolio’ (SCP) & SageOne SmallCap Portfolio (SSP) plus preferential allotment / QIP opportunities (if any)
  2. Investor type – All domestic investors; NRI investors using NRO accounts (Except US and Canada)
  3. Minimum contribution – INR 1 crore
  4. Subsequent client top- ups: In multiples of INR 10 lacs
  5. Subscription window – Bi monthly

Performance so far

Note: The above data is of SageOne AIF Scheme 1 from Sept’19 to June’22 and of AIF scheme 2 from June’22 till date.
SageOne AIF Scheme 1 was fully redeemed between June’22 to Aug’22 and most investors reinvested the proceeds in Scheme 2. Scheme 2 is closed for new fund raise since Dec’22.

AIF Performance/Returns mentioned are net of fees and costs. AIF returns are pre-tax. However, clients are reported NAV net of tax provisioning. Returns for less than a year are absolute returns, rest all periods are annualised returns. The above returns (TWRR) are on the consolidated pool of capital.
